Multidevice and video: Two ways to attract Millennials

Millennials are a generation that demands content and also, are characterized by consuming it in any kind of screen, this is called multidevice consumption. What kind of content is the king in the digital environment? The video format prevails in this environment, because this generation is much more visual and it is estimated that video traffic will exceed 80% of the flow of data across the network.

When it comes to launch a digital campaign, keep in mind, that the Generation Y is a demanding audience. You can't use the same TV commercial on your socoail networks or channels. In fact, according to a study Ascend2 called "Videomarketing Strategy", the video content they like is:
  • Customer testimonials ( 51 % )
  • Tutorials (50 % )
  • Demonstration of product (26 % )
  • Interviews with leaders ( 23 % )
  • Practical cases (26 % )
  • Webminars ( 23 % )
Normally , the objectives of these campaigns are branding and the effectiveness there of them, will depend on the quality of the content. Does duration matter? The answer is yes , Millennials prefer short videos, according IPG and YuMe Inc , these videos must last at least 15 seconds.

Therefore, considering that Millennials are consuming more video and generally, on their smartphone screens, the content should be adapted to their screens, it should be a good content and characterized by a short duration.
